Critical care nurse Kate Manion can’t remember anything about the accident that put her in the intensive care unit of the same St. Louis hospital that employs her. She can remember, however, that the nurse presently assigned to her--unaffectionately known as “Atilla the Buns”--is the last caregiver any sane person would ever want. But the point is rendered abruptly moot when Atilla falls down dead...with Kate’s hands wrapped around her throat. Kate is no killer, but more medical professionals are soon dying all around her. A murderer is prowling this “haven of healing,” which has seemed more concerned with financial gain lately than with quality health care. And if Kate Manion doesn’t want to join the rapidly increasing ranks of the newly dead, she’ll have to uncover the shocking secrets hidden somewhere in the dark, forgotton hours she spent on an emergency room gurney.
